Today I am so happy to be participating in Altenew’s Blog Hop celebrating the release of the Paint-a-Flower: Zinnea Magellan Rose! For today’s blog, I wanted to make a card that resembles the real flowers, and there are lots of color choices.
I chose an example that has much softer colors than many of these zinneas — a blend of soft yellow and peach. I have listed the easy steps below for you to create your own card!

ALL SUPPLIES ARE LISTED & LINKED FOR PURCHASE BELOW!

Follow these steps to make this card:
- Start with a piece of 3 3/4″ x 5″ vellum.
- Use an anti-static tool on the vellum, then stamp the floral image with Embossing Ink.
- Heat emboss the flower with Antique Gold Crisp Embossing Powder.
- Wipe off the excess anti-static powder with a Swiffer or soft cloth.
- Use alcohol markers to color the image on the BACK of the vellum.
- I used Buttercream, Rouge, Autumn Blaze, Frayed Leaf, and Forest Glade Artist Markers.
- Attach a piece of Double-Sided Adhesive Sheets to the back of the vellum.
- Remove the release sheet & attach the vellum to a piece of off-white or bone cardstock.
- Cut a piece of white cardstock for the background panel (4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″).

- Use the Rouge Artist Marker to make a colored border around the edges of the background panel.
- Also use the Rouge marker to color an extra piece of white cardstock big enough for your chosen sentiment.
- Die cut the sentiment (I used Sentiment Word Dies) from the inked cardstock.
- Tie several strands of Metallic Gold Thread around the vellum panel & tie a bow.
- Glue the sentiment on the card, crossing over the gold thread.
- Attach the front panel to the background panel with foam tape for dimension.
- You’re done! 🙂
